It's gotten to be a money making business for the HOA where it should be a means for the HO to sell their goods!
That is almost a quote from one of the BOD members at the last "regular" meeting. It went something like this..."everything we do should be for a profit..."

doesn't the HOA have a non-profit status? that is an amazingly stupid thing for them to say, especially if they are non-profit.

definitely a lesson learned here to actually pay attention to the elections and make sure this doesn't happen again. These people make some of the incompetents in DC actually look a little less retarded.

They are a non-profit...and thus their property tax bill is not where OUR money goes. Last I knew the entire property tax due for the HOA was right around $200 for the year. The BOD member that made that public statement has been on the board for multiple terms and has been on the ARC and has been the Standards Coordinator. Sounds like DC in that the same people keep recycling through the system.

Good Morning Everyone, First off, You are right wc2005, there has been a lot of the same people recycling thur the positions, which is our fault. We failed to take enough interest and to get involved and vote them out but it won't happen again. We need to elect people that want to grow and benefit the community not the own agenda and that want to run the HOA with openness and transparentcy instead of being a closed door back room operation as it is now. Customer service should be one of the highest priorities. The recreation department, I have heard is being cut since the new recreation director has left. This is the wrong thing to do if you want to grow and keep a strong community forcus and involvement which is one of the best selling points and keeping the property values up. People are looking for communities that have activites for all ages. No I'm not for increasing the assements these programs had been set up and working on a revenue neutral basis years ago and could be brought back with a recreation director and take the extra money that the want to pay the community manager to get this programs back up and running.

On a side note approximately 20 of us met with and retained an attorney. WE ARE TIRED OF THE DECEPTION AND NOT FOLLOWING THE BY-LAWS. Anyone, that would like to be kept informed needs to be added to the distribution list by e-mailing www.westcreekhomeownersforachange.com or direct messaging me. Thank you for listening.l

Default Being informed and getting involved

GOOD MORNING WESTCREEK!

1. A group of us signed an Attorney Retainer Agreement so we can have legal representation as required. We have spent numerous hours fighting with the Board and trying to get all homeowners of Westcreek INFORMED AND INVOLVED.

2. You asked for a Flyer that you could pass out to your neighbors and also use to acquire signatures. I am sending this to you in another Email. The document was done using Word. You can print it out from Word or print it out from your email. If you need blank Petition forms go to http://www.westcreekhomeownersforachange.com/id11.html
Get out there and talk to your neighbors, get signatures, get names and email addresses for the distribution list and get people to the October 19th @ 6:00 pm Board Meeting.

3. We have volunteers to get signatures for West Creek Gardens, Willowbrook village , and Wynwood. Come on guys, you're being handed everything on a silver platter. I need volunteers from each sub-division .

4. Our distribution list has gone from 30 folks to 118 with in around 40 days.

Please remember all of this is for your own benefit. Find out the facts and judge for yourself. If you want to live with Assessment dues being raised every year, then do nothing.

A special thank you for all of you that have sent emails volunteering your service

Thanks,
Cher

Without you and the seniors that actually helped you get this off the ground, we would still be stuck with our heads in the sand so to speak. You have been very essential in your knowledge with the computer, you welcome us into your life with open arms. We all appreciate all your time and concerns with what used to seem a overwhelming uncertain task. We will prevail.
Thank-you,
JCDrupiewski & OUR Group

The HOA's property tax will be a lot higher than $200 if they don't sell the two houses they own fast. Closer to $7,000.

Well, according to Bexar County records the Villages of Westcreek's tax burden is...

What/Market Value/Tax Bill
23.3386 acres/$100/$2.15
1.6414 acres pool/$650/$13.99
2.4813 acres/$100/$2.15
0.3138 acres/$100/$2.15
18.9 acres pool/$600/$12.91
0.0619 acres/$100/$2.15
0.1653 acres house/$159,190/$3,426.42
8.4120 acres easement/$100/$2.15
3.9830 acres green belt/$100/$2.15
0.0550 acres easement/$100/$2.15
0.0601 acres green belt/$100/$2.15
0.1439 acres house/$155,370/$3,344.19***

***Also shows a DV4 (DISABLED VETERAN) and HS (Homestead) exemption with a tax rate of $2,883.56. I don't know the details but the house on Barkston was apparently taken from a disabled veteran and if I'm not mistaken, the DV4 rating is the highest (worst health) rating of the DV ratings.
