I was looking for midnight screening tickets for Total Recall at Fiesta 16 and noticed they weren't showing it, instead it seems that because of the Regal Huebner Oaks purchase as of Friday they are converting Fiesta 16 into a Cinemark Bargain Competitor. Fandango has tickets listed as economy for $3 which is double what Cinemark charges $1.50 for their ticket price.

I'm curious whether they plan to keep it or if they are only going to run it this way until their lease runs out and then shut it down...

In the rare instance you waited too long to see that movie you've been wanting to see and they yank it from the theater chances are it will show up at the buck fifties. I guess we will have the three buck movies now.

This is how it will stay. The plan was for the Fiesta to convert to a second-run theater after the opening of the Regal at Huebner Oaks, although the ticket price wasn't announced.

Maybe the $3 price tag will keep the riff-raff out? That $1.50 Cinemark theater isn't a fun place to watch a movie.

I agree you want the theatre to stay in good shape. I am all for $5 theatre if it helps keep up the theatre to a specific level of service.

could it be the $3 releases are new movies. Whereas the $1 ones are older ones that have been out a while? In McKinney, TX they have a theater like this. $3 for brand new movies, all the time.
