Thanks for mentioning this, we completely forgot. How hard is it to park and get around at the Sand Fest if you just drive down for the day?

It's well worth the trip. Driving through town is not so bad, parking close to the beach in town is horrible; Going towards Mustang Island from Port A. I would drive up to Beach access road #2 and park as close as possible. From there it's about a 12 minute walk to the fest.

Yeah, I like this too. The Lexington at night is so pretty, it's generally not crowded, and you can find good hotel deals right there on North Beach if you look. Sometimes we go down and stay on North Beach and then drive out to Port A during the same trip for a bit of both. I don't like the sand on North Beach though, hurts my feet!

Went to North Padre over President's Day Weekend. Not a bad place but my wife and liked Rockport and Port Aransas better. Next trip I think we're going to give Port Lavaca a try.

My first trip to North beach ,I was 7 yrs old.We all stayed in cabin that slept 8 with a full bath and kitchen for
12.00 a night. There were alot of little Bungolo's at that time. The jetty had a rest/snack joint that served up snow cones any flavor with vanilla ice cream.Great for hot day at the beach. AL

Well as you can see,our coast line is a place worth visiting. Some coast lines depending what time of the year it is,you'll have to contend with this grassy moss that breaks off the floor and floats all over the place.Jelly fish
also become a real hazard I think its in OCT,not sure.
