Hi, wonder if anyone could offer suggestions.

I called my vet on Friday asking about a situation with my mini-Schnauzer mix. This dog is a rescue dog.
The receptionist asked if I wanted another miniature-Schnauzer. I was not looking for another dog, but I thought it might work. Bo is 2.5 years old, 17 pounds, spayed female and very good natured dog.

I am having knee surgery on Wed., an initially said I did not think it was a good idea to take the dog.
The receptionist had the dog for 3 weeks and said it did not like her young children. The original family gave up the dog because the family was leaving the dog alone for 12 hours a day. Both parents traveled and the two teenagers were heavy in sports.

When I said I would not take it, the receptionist said she could no longer keep it at the vet and would have to give it back to the original family. This family would then keep the dog outside!! Miniature-Schnauzers cannot take our heat and this is an inside dog.

I brought the dog home. She is beautiful and rides great in the car. However, my mini-Schnauzer was not excited about having a new companion. She thinks there is an intruder in the house. The current setup is one has to stay in a kennel as I am afraid mine will attack the new mini-Schnauzer.

The new dog gets along great with my cocker spaniel, who is 11.5 years old. So I think I need to find a new home for this wonderful dog.

Any suggestions on finding a new home?
