You're not being mean. You're being accurate. The worst thing about trying to exercise in a gym is weeding through all the riff-raff that hangout in there. Lil thugs is what I am speaking of.

Savings and convenience among other reasons is why I just spent some money on some equipment and threw it in a room in my house.

That gym at Culebra won't open until next summer according to plans announced by Gold's. Just FYI. The Anytime Fitness is a decent gym, but I prefer UTSA's.

Which is why I work out at a private gym.

The money aspect of it tends to weed out those who come to socialize and not actually sweat.

I stopped by the sales trailer for the Gold's at Potranco/151. The images of the new facility look nice, but it sounds like they are selling a lot of memberships (at least according to the sales rep) and the place will be very busy. It's a "gold" level club (their lowest tier) which means that you can go to 9 other clubs in SA with this membership, but you would need to upgrade to go to Bandera (the former Spectrum gym, not the Gold's by Home Depot), Alamo Heights, or Rogers Ranch. Those are all more expensive.
The rate I was quoted was approx. $37 inc. tax/month on autodraft. They also require a 12 month commitment.
I was told the rates will increase as the opening gets closer, which is supposed to be in early August.
I thought I would pass this info along for those interested.
