It's sad because everyone seems so robotic and does as everyone else does. If you're any different than them, they ignore and look down on you. The other day during my lunch hour, I let a lady cross the street at Chick-fil-a (hand signaled and smiled) and she gave me a dirty look and went behind my car.

They do own their home outright and that is the only thing keeping them there.

To Winefan, agree with you too, the other day there was a post by a mother who was being transferred here for an Army job, She was letting her precious snowflake pick out where to live for the high school even though it was really out of her price range and not convenient to her work place, but her snowflake wanted to live there. I pointed out how asinine that was and got a snappy reply back. The truth hurts sometimes.
Yeah, I do all my shopping on Austin Hwy, Broadway, and Nacogdoches. I've gone to the HEB on Nacogdoches and North New Braunfels (the cool retro HEB) since I was a child, go to the Target on Austin Hwy, etc. I can't remember the last time I wasn't thanked in the parking lot, or the last time a driver honked at me for turning into my neighborhood. Yesterday I was at the Quarry and a family was going to cross the street, I was going to let them go, but they told me to go first. There's just more of a sense of community over here. It is by no means 100% perfect (no where is), but it's a million times better over here than the far NE side. The Alamo Heights police pretty much leave you alone, Selma and Schertz, will ticket their own family members for going 21 in a 20. No such thing as a warning in Schertz/Selma/UC.

LOL. Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, and almost all of the small police departments are known for pulling over people for barely going over the speed limit. Let's just say that I know from professional experience that AHPD usually has nothing better to do than to run traffic. I try to make sure I do not drive one mile per hour above the speed limit in any of the small municipalities.

It's funny though because I've never been stopped for speeding in AH or TH! Maybe I'm just lucky..lol. I will tell you that I see more blue/red lights flashing in Selma than I do in AH or TH.

I know a few people who have been ticketed there. When I worked for VIA, we were warned not to go over the speed limit when driving through Alamo Heights and the other small municipalities. I haven't been ticketed yet since I pay extra attention to my speed when driving through there. They used to have officers on motorcycles hiding behind trees in the school zones. I haven't seen that in a couple of years, but I do see the patrol cars. This was a long time ago, but my uncle was pulled over in AH for playing his music too loud. He had one of those bass-heavy sound systems.

Excuse me, but where is this cibolo and other place at? is it in San Antonio or on the outskirts? I was thinking of moving there, but apparently I am hearing all over the place that people are being mean spirited and rude. I hope San Antonio is not going down the tubes...say it isn't so!

San Antonio is in Bexar County. Schertz is in Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe County. Cibolo is in Guadalupe County. Yes, these cities are on the outskirts, but they are a part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. We do have a lot of people moving into the area from other states, but society is just becoming less well-mannered as a whole.
