All districts here provide SpEd, as required by federal law. If your child has an IEP, that will transition to any school. An ARD would need to be held within 10 school days of transferring in.

Depending on the needs of your child, most IEP requirements are handled within the regular ed classroom. Many schools here employ a co-teach model. More severe needs would be in a self contained classroom.

San Antonio is located in Bexar County. The city limits do not determine the school district. Here is a link to district maps in the San Antonio area:

Thanks for all the info....
So from what i understand i could register my child anywhere?
Depends where we live, then we are going to start from there?
It is so hard to get an IEP meeting here in LA, we only have it once a year.
Our next one would be on march 2014. I would definitely
mention our moving away, maybe, hopefully, they could help.

Sort of.... You register your child according to where you live. ARD's are only required once per year, unless the situation changes. Every three years, a reevaluation occurs. You will need to let them know that you are moving, and provide them with the correct information to forward the IEP paperwork. I'd wait until you know where you will be moving to. Meet with the new school, and explain your child's situation and current modifications/accommodations. They will let you know the next step.
