I remember hearing the story in the 80s a different way. The version I heard had a very pretty woman as its central character. In this version, a beauitiful woman with a long white dress glides right in, waltzes with various admirers and turns down many suitors. At the end of the evening as the club's lights were lit, she takes an inebriated young man home. Upon leaving the dim lit club, some it's patrons noted she had a claw foot as her dress swayed with each step. People were speechless and she quickly whisked her victim away.

If someone was good-looking & a good person, would it really matter if they had a weird-looking foot or not?

You're totally right; demons need love too.

Since when is a weird-looking foot an indication of a demon? I'm so confused here.

The claw foot shouldn't be your only confusion. Aren't you going to ask about the Camoroncito or what the word even means? How about the folkloric legend that it represents?

To answer your question, it's fairly obvious but the legend alludes to the devil disguised as a person.
