You would stay away from Stone Oak for these very reasons. Stone Oak is smack dab in the middle of the most congested area of San Antonio.

As far as acre+ lots, possible I guess, but I haven't seen them in Stone Oak. I don't think the area is zoned for estate sized lots. It's too dense. I suppose you could find a house adjacent to an empty lot for purchase. Also, due to the heavy density, your "view" will probably consist of your neighbors windows. I also suspect that you will have more stringent HOA.

I'm not trying to bash Stone Oak here, but from your previous post descriptions of what you would like in an area, Stone Oak is not that at all. It's congested suburban. Obviously, there are many who love to live in that setting (considering it's population )

If you are looking for something closer to San Antonio, but more in line to what you have described, I would also suggest Timberwood, which is about 5 miles north of Stone Oak. Acreage lots, good schools (feeds into the same Smithson Valley Schools as RC and VO), good community, and very nice views. Your budget will be no problem.

Of course, Timberwood's location will have you driving through the traffic nightmare in the Stone Oak area of hwy 281 to commute to San Antonio. As would River Crossing.

The Forest @ Stone Oak has 1+ acre lots in the community. Have a friend that lives in this community and her lot is like 1.5 acres. There is a nice community pool also but some homes have private pools. Can't say she hangs out with neighbors though. She doesn't have kids and I rarely see people out when I am over there.

Anyone have any negative comments about vintage oaks? Went and toured it the other day and liked what I saw. I would love some feedback. Thank you

Just a little Update. The decision is made and my husband bought a great house in River Rock Ranch. I hope we'll like it there and find a lot of new friends. I already registered for some meet up groups.

Thanks again for your advises.
