I just saw that too. It has to be due to the increased traffic and the stoplight placed recently. There is more traffic coming out of the neighborhood at Silver Pointe (the stoplight) because of the newly opened connection with Stillwater Ranch.

It happened a week or so ago. Doesn't matter, people were driving 45 MPH on it despite the 55 MPH speed limit!

Maybe now it's 45 MPH they'll start driving 55 MPH like everywhere else in the city!

Props to MD Auto for posting the speed limit change on their sign. More people probably pay attention to it than the TXDOT signs along the roadway!

That's how I found out about it. I definitely read it when I drive down there. I get a good laugh out of the stuff they post. Thanks MD Auto!

I wonder how much $$$ this will cost Helotes. They don't have their speed trap anymore. I guess they're going to have to lower their limit to 35 now.

I'm going to guess it coincided with the speed limit on Culebra outside 1604 dropping to 45 also. (or I just noticed it)

Helotes has always had a 45 MPH speed limit on 1560 starting at their city limits (just north of Braun)...

And with the speed limit so clearly posted, I don't see how it is a "trap!"

It would be a "trap" if it it inappropriate for the design & conditions of the road.
