Other areas of San Antonio have threads dedicated to update so I thought we can show the NE part of San Antonio some attention.

Randolph Metrocom Chamber of Commerce - The Metrocom Area - Texas - Home

Live Oak has sold the convention center and it is no more. I looks like they will be having a company come in and build a 5 story hotel and new convention center somewhere else...

New Live Oak convention center planned - San Antonio Express-News

Quote:
Sale of the former Live Oak Civic Center property — and council's retention of those funds — helped clear the way for the city's participation in bringing a convention center to town.

“Our council held on to that $1.62 million it received in the sale of that property. They didn't take it and spend it, knowing full well that they had intentions of partnering with a developer for a hotel-convention center,” Wayman said.
Looks like the old site has all the tenets lined up...

Final platting for the cleared property is expected to occur during Thursday's Planning and Zoning Commission meeting for five lots. Riata Real Estate has signed with 54th Street Grill and Bar, Burger King, McAlister's Deli and Starbucks.

I did have to look up what the Metrocom was so I added a link in case anyone else was not familiar with cities involved.

Windcrest is already rezoning this project to prevent as much multifamily as possible.

I doubt the project would have High end apartments. Also, Windcrest currently has zero large scale apartments. Most interestingly is the grocery store site though.
