I think if they made a mistake they will make it up somehow. Sorry, I'm a Walmart shopper. They sell a lot of junk, but that's not what I buy there. Their groceries are a lot cheaper and I've got a family to feed. HEB has gotten way out of hand, especially trying to force me to buy their brand. Another topic, another day, I guess. But Walmart has always given me good customer service, just so you know. Best Buy sure hasn't.

So I called them and received absolutely no help and am more mad than I was before.. First I call the 1-800 number on the e-mail and it's a bogus number that asks for a PIN. So I search their awful site until I finally find a 1-800 number which is of course not for online and I have to get transferred. I then go through their menu which never actually covers the option I wanted and finally have to go through the fraudulent charge portion to get a human. I figured it was a fraudulent charge since they didn't follow their own policy which is allegedly to not charge you until the item ships. They instead put a hold on the money and claim this isn't a charge. I explained that it is a charge since the money is no longer available to me, but she says it's not called a charge so it isn't.. I tell ya their customer service knows how to make friends quick.. I also pointed out that I have an e-mail from walmart telling me they received my request to cancel the order and are processing it. According to them it's ok to send out a fraudulent e-mail, because that's what they do..
So basically they don't care and they also didn't care that I was not happy at all, hadn't shopped with them in over a year and now would never shop with them again, and would tell everyone I know this story in hopes they won't shop with them. Unfortunately only a few people will listen to me because the $ is the bottom line and I guess saving a few pennies is worth getting no service and lied to. For me, they screwed up and I'm going to contact the corporate office on Monday. Hopefully someone will care that their customer service is rude and they place blatant lies in writing.
Hopefully some day people will realize there is value and then there is just cheap..

Bah, let's get a class action against them. F00kers!

I didn't cancel my order.
I paid, and they didn't come through. Indian givers! False advertisement!

Wikipedia - False advertising is the use of deliberately false statements or deception in advertising, in order to gain a commercial advantage.

I canceled my other pre order because of these bone heads!

Hopefully they let you pre-order again and I know how popular that game is going to be.. They do need to be punished, or they could at the very least act like they care and maybe offer a discount or coupon for something. The lies and uppity attitude isn't winning them any friends at all though and hopefully all this makes the rounds of the internet.. kinda like the sale did in the first place they actually refer to this specific "price error" in their recorded message, so I'm sure there's quite a few not so happy people.. now hopefully all of them take action.

I've already told my daughter that no walmart anything is allowed in the house and if I find any I will throw it away. FYI, she's almost 21 and lives at home, so that rule does fly.. I'm sure my wife won't agree, so I'll just make sure she never does any shopping ever. It's easy for me to never go there. I just went to HEB+ today and got plenty of good deals. The commissary takes care of the rest.

I wonder if their site got hacked or something? I mean, $18 for a first-run game is cheap. Seriously, it's really bad PR for them to NOT follow through on this, and they certainly don't need any more bad PR, judging by the venom here alone. I really think they will fix this--they almost have to.

I don't shop at walmart often, but you can bet I will be calling their corporate office on Monday. I will not shop at walmart ever again. Funny, I sent an email to their customer service online through their site this morning and I got another email a few minutes ago saying that my order was cancelled by THEM because of a pricing error. Whatever...

Walmart doesn't care about the US market anymore, they're more worried about the foreign markets now. They're thought process is that they have such a gigantic foothold in the American economy right now that pissing off a handful of people that didn't get their Nintendo game doesn't mean squat. Well "F" Walmart, we're through! Don't call me, don't email me, don't send me love coupons, it's over.

I'm an avid deals-site shopper. Price mistakes happen frequently and this one was a doozy. There's no way the company would sell a hotly-anticipated game for half of what other sites are selling it for. Sites like Wal-Mart have airtight disclaimers buried on their site that protect them when these things happen. When you order an item with a price-mistake, you're basically rolling the dice that the site won't notice. When they do notice, your order gets cancelled and you dust yourself off and move on. It's not worth getting upset about.

however, they sent an e-mail stating:

Dear XXXX XXXXX,

We have received your request to cancel the item(s) listed below from your order (#$%%^^^^%%$).

We will attempt to cancel this order, however, we may already have processed your order for shipping. If you need to contact us about this order, please call us at 1-800-966-6456 between 6 a.m. and 1 a.m (CT), seven days a week.

That was a very dumb mistake on their part, especially since it's in writing. I'm not done with this one..

and the money they "don't charge" still is not available to me.. they seriously suck at making friends

If you ordered it by credit card, and you have a receipt, don't even bother with calling walmart again.

Just call your credit card company and show/send them the receipt. They probably won't even ask for it.

They should immediately credit your account for the error. As a result, walmart will get a fine for an improper charge.
