No, no Doritos; too salty.

Try a tostitos dip chip instead.. OR, make corn tortillas, cut them up and lightly fry them.
Yes, you guys are from down under, although I'm sure you have ingredients to make corn tortillas.

You could bake corn tortillas until they are hard and use that.

That's a chilaquiles TACO, not a tostada. A tostada is food piled on top of a fried, crispy corn tortilla. A taco is food wrapped in a tortilla, either flour or corn. The taco in your picture was made with a flour tortilla. Are you able to buy flour tortillas in Australia? They're not that hard to make, but you might also be able to find some sort of flatbread that would serve the same function. Good luck! I spend part of the year in the northeast U.S., and breakfast tacos are the things I miss the most about San Antonio. It's just not the same making them at home.

Thanks for the recipes and tips guys I will make a big batch of this so I can have it for breakfast each morning.
Yes we have corn and flour tortillas in Aus. They're nowhere near as cheap (about $3 for 10) but they're at every grocery store.

You can just learn to make'em yourself and save yourself a lot of money. Plus, you'll be incredibly popular with any friends that like Mexican food.

I saw a tex mex restaurant (called Chuckwagon) in Tokyo once so I am sure Australia has at least one! I wasn't brave enough to try the one in Japan though.

I took a picture of the sign outside of the restaurant. If I can find it, I will post it.
