If you want to know if you are underpaid in San Antonio, why not check around with other
companies that relate to similar work you are doing to find out.

I enjoy bean & cheese tacos all the time & go to the thrift shops to buy tools which cost less.

About the only time I felt underpaid was when I was self-employed.
So I fired myself!

(just kidding )

Clearly there is a huge problem with illegal immigration in the US which affects the lower layer of the job market. But I was surprised to learn that the current government is in full support of that so Why hire a legal when you can hire an illegal for one quarter of the cost ?

So when someone raves about making $14/hour, you know you are underpaid?

I got paid $1.69/hour as a "package boy” in the ‘60s
at local grocery store.

Was I underpaid?
I don't know, I was 16 yrs.

I do know I was happy to have money to go downtown Coney Island
for a hotdog or hamburger.
Take in a movie at the Majestic, Aztec or the Texas which cost less.

I am sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just trying to make this forum interesting again. Everyone is so tied up in stuff that doesn't interest me- don't get me wrong- I know this stuff is important to you but it is SO BORING! I would love to tell everybody how I got here and what I did but would you really care? I don't care to tell you. Honest. I spent most of today looking for a place that sells parts for mobile homes. I had a leaking pipe. I won't tell you where it is but when you need it you will find it.

Default I might,

I for one very well might find your story interesting, retired and tired. Go ahead. A San Antonio human interest tale is more interesting than the best Chuck-E-Cheese location to patronize.
As far as underpaid in S.A.? Perhaps President Sanders is right and the minimum wage rate should be $15.00 per hour.
The greatest economic stimulus ever.

I was not offended, but found it interesting trying to compare all the whiners and "I got my degree in nothing relevant yet can't understand why I can't get hired and am wallowing in student loans" to those that came thru Ellis Island, TRULY HAD NOTHING (my grandparents) and actually used SKILLS AND TALENTS to succeed. The difference was pride (willing to work doing anything) vs demanding that it is someone elses position I am in this place in my life right now generation we have cultivated in just 3-4 generations.

Back in the day, those in need were grateful, willing to do what was reqired, and made things happen. Now so many whine they can not afford eduction (SKILLS SOMETIMES PAY WAY BETTER THAN EDUCATION IF YOU MANAGE TO SEARCH AND FIND YOURS), and the entire "I am a victim and the world is against me, vs those that still see this as the land of "if you are willing to work for it, EVERYONE can find some talent, gift, skill that can better your life and you can pass to your kids as generations before us did.

I am truly offended that so very many generations of my family personally fought and risked their lives against communism and socialism only to find our off spring wanting to VOTE it in!!!!! Carl Marks MIGHT have had a great idea in theory, but history has proven it a TOTAL bust.

How many people have "refugeed" to Cuba/the USSR/ and other communist state run venues????? Yet, how many have risked their lives to escape that way of life for a better live for their families vs the opposite??????

Wow. For someone claiming that they were not offended, you sure sound, offended! Axe to grind? Grind it somewhere else please.
