Here is a good one, in 1954 or 55. My dad would put ice in the swamp cooler and tin foil on the TV antennas to watch The Day the Earth Stood Still.

The food is still Tip Top. There is one one of the original waitresses left. I really wish they would update the place a little or build a second location.

KACTO MARATU NICTO!!! (phonic spelling, but if you watched and remember the show you will understand the IMPORTANCE of the phrase)...

That dang movie scared me so bad as a kid I STILL remember the secret phrase that stopped that huge robot guy!!!!

I was CERTAIN he would land in my neighborhood shortly!!!! LOL

Default Walk down memory lane...

Does anyone remember the Tee Pee restaurant on Austin Hwy?Delicious steaks that were so big they did not fit on the serving platter and the buttermilk homemade biscuits to sop up the steak juices... how come they don't make steak restaurants like that anymore?

I soooo remember the Tee Pee...my grandparents lived right off Lanark and the Tee Pee was where we went for the grown up's birthdays

Does anyone remember the Tee Pee restaurant on Austin Hwy? Delicious steaks that were so big they did not fit on the serving platter and the buttermilk homemade biscuits to sop up the steak juices... how come they don't make steak restaurants like that anymore? They had several tee pees on the premises (not authentic).

Absolutely! Along with Big John's Steak House a short zig-zag away from the Tee Pee. Awesome steaks and ambience at both restaurants.
