It was kind of an odd hodge podge of food. I dropped in there a few weeks after it opened and had a torta or something like that. They tried to be snazzy street food. It might have worked in a different location, but that area thrives on taquerias and fast food.

Close, 1604 and NW Military.

In all honesty, I made my post in the wrong thread. Although the Freetail is somewhat new, I thought this was the other food thread.

Cool video about the opening of The Esquire and The Monterey:

YouTube - Chris and Stacey Hill

On another note, anyone know why Tangeré closed and is now replaced by something called "The McCullough Grill" (or something like that)?

Yay for the Monterey!

Did you hear about Mark Bliss's new venture on S. Presa? Can't wait. It's moving along quickly now.

I was down in Corpus a couple days ago and tried Cheddar's for the first time. I thought it would be burgers & stuff, but it's much more. And cheap too! Not the best place I've ever eaten, and a chain for sure, but pretty darn yummy, affordable family fare. I'd go again.

Encino Mexican on Bulverde & TPC Parkway closed, but looks like it's moving to where the old Quizno's used to be near 281 & Evans on that weird side road in front of Spectrum. It's sharing a space with a Thai/Pho place. Weird combination.
