I'm not sure - I still think it's odd that this location would close, but I'm told that it is the Macaroni Grill that will be converted. My guess is that something happens in the next 90 days. I have noticed several Macaroni Grill locations closed in other cities, so it does appear they are shutting down some underperforming locations.

Carino's closed a few weeks ago

Blanco BBQ had people eating there for a soft opening on Friday (see photos on their Facebook page). It also confirms that they will open at 11:00 AM today.

Opps I was thinking about the other bbq place outside 1604. Didn't realize this was the one further down infront of where Roaring 20's use to be

I ate at Blanco BBQ today. The turkey was amazing. The sausage was fair and the brisket was fair. Their beans are amazing as well. I dont care for their table sauce. They need to have more sauce options. Overall I was not impressed but I would go back to eat their beans and turkey.

The place itself is very nice.

I ate at Blanco BBQ today as well (as did a lot of other people!). I thought the sausage, ribs and ham were good. The brisket was okay but too dry for my tastes. I did not try the turkey but heard good things about it. I thought the sides were just okay. I liked the sauce but not as much as Rudy's or the various selections at Two Bros. I like the space, but it's huge, and I don't know how they will fill it regularly. I'll be back from time to time and hope they do well.

There was a Quiznos at Broadway & Greenbrier (just inside Loop 410) that closed earlier this year. The building (which was originally a GW Jr.'s) is being demolished, along with a former dry cleaners that was behind it facing Greenbrier. A check of the COSA Development Services website shows an open building permit for that property for a new Raising Cane's.

I've driven by that location many times over the last 11 years, which include 4-5 previous incarnations of restaurants. Never before during that span of time has the parking lot been as consistently full as it has in the past week. It reminds me of the consistently full parking lot at El Bucanero, about 3 miles north of there on Blanco.

Clearly there is pent-up demand for BBQ in the North Central area.
