Did the new Laguna Madres out by Seaworld for a late lunch today. I've been to the one on Rigsby twice and both times were disappointing. Pulled in at 2:30 and the parking lot was full. Went inside and it was still crowded from the lunch bunch. The menu for me is too high on the wall to be effective. You have to stand back to read it, then get in line to order. It came out fairly quick, less than 5 minutes. If you remember the old Barnacle Bills, you'll be right at home here. Same atmosphere inside, same decorations, same system of doing business. The menu is different but a lot of what was on the Barnacle menu is on the Laguna menu only under a different name. The shrimp is the same, even the toasted bread comes out of the same toaster as Barnacles. This time lunch was not disappointing- it was like going back to a Barnacle Bills. If you liked Barnacle Bills, you'll like this Laguna Madres location. It's right across from Rudys Bar-B-Q in the same parking lot as Bill Millers. We'll be back.

Barbaro (from the Monterey folks) supposed to be opening in a couple weeks at the Foundry site on McCullough, looked pretty far along when I peeked in the window, but wonder about parking issues if they're as popular as their Southtown restaurant.
