I would just ask TR if he would come out and give you a quote.
He's given you enough information that I think he deserves a chance to earn your business if he wants it.

I reached out to him earlier.

As of currently, right now my decision is down to two companies: Alamo Water and Elite Water of Texas

Both companies use the exact same system - (tank and valve head) - a Clack head / WS1 valve

The only difference appears to be price and warranty

Ill put Alamo Water's stats first and then Elite Water of SA (in parenthesis)

Alamo Water "Workhorse" 45k system -

$1,595 (Elite Water of SA $1,695)
10 year warranty on tank (5 years Elite)
5 years control valve and brine tank (5 years Elite)
3 years on Resin (5 year Elite)
1 Year labor (2 years Elite)

So Elite Water is $100 higher but 1 year extra warranty on labor and 2 years extra on Resin

Do you guys think these are good prices and good warranties?

I am curious as to the warranties and the prices you guys recently paid for your systems.

Both companies seem like they provide good service according to reviews and due to the fact that they have been in business for 15 years or longer (see OP in this thread).

I second this. Despite all the agreements me and TRN have on this forum, he would be my first choice for a water softener if I was ever going to buy one.

As I told you in my response, I don't give quotes based on other folks' tests and/or quotes. Once I've done a site visit so I know what I'm dealing with - and tested the water - I'll be happy to quote you. Anyone quoting without looking at a jobsite is going to be unprepared for any variable - and I don't like doing that. It's neither right nor ethical, in my mind.
