I'm looking to relocate from California and when I visited, was surprised to see virtually no bumper stickers on cars. I spent a couple days looking at neighborhoods, going up and down highways and I was scanning. Hardly a sticker in sight! In southern California you see all kinds of bernie and hillary stickers, 'coexist', vegan, or simply beach and surf oriented stuff or peace signs, etc. And if you have an NRA sticker your car is getting keyed. Being Texas after all I thought in San Antonio I'd see a lot of american flag stickers, military and veteran stickers, patriotic slogans, maybe some trump stickers or NRA stickers, sports teams or fishing or hunting or something, but I saw... nothing. Just pristine undecorated bumpers everywhere. OK maybe one or two God oriented stickers but really nothing else.

Why no bumper stickers?

It is against the law in San Antonio to have more than one bumper sticker on your car.

It shouldn't take much driving in SA before you see decals on the rear window depicting the number of people in the family, though. And decals showing the high school that the family kids attend. Both of those were unfamiliar to me when I moved to SA.

Speaking of bumper stickers, whatever happened to the "Keep San Antonio Lame" bumper stickers?

They’re still around. The clerk who works at my local liquor store drives a car with that exact bumper sticker on it.

You haven’t been around here for very long. I’ve seen a plethora of cars with an abundance of bumper stickers on them. They’re not exclusive to location.

Because they make a car look trashy.

If someone wants their car to look trashy, what does it matter? Its their car.

If I had the one I want, my car would be vandalized. The other side does that reliably.

And that's fine. Cover yours with stickers - it's your right.
