I just moved here and have 5 years experience in the food industry and 3 of those years as manager. I got a job in food down here but I cant keep doing it. I'm 22 years old, working on my bachelors and masters in public health(its an advanced program), but have severe anxiety and working in a food service job is too much on me anymore. It was getting bad towards the end of my job back home. If anyone knows anywhere that's hiring, like a bank or call center or a doctors office I could get in without a degree or certificate, please comment. I need out of food. I would prefer something closer to my new home, which is near Lackland, but I'll drive a little if it means getting out of food.

Call Center. Specifically CVS Caremark which is in healthcare and is on that side of town as well.

If your are working on an MPH, there is United Healthcare/Optum/Well Med up in NW SA. Also, try the entry level positions in the local health systems. Maybe a clerk at one of the Hospitals in the Medical Center.

I don't work in San Antonio, but as someone who works in Healthcare IT, I would recommend that if you are studying for Masters in PH, you SHOULD find an entry level with one of the local health systems/health care companies or even with local govt healthcare jobs. Working at Jack in the Box with an MPH doesn't do you much good, you need the degree and experience in the industry.

Go to any of the Texas Workforce offices and take a copy of a list of most recent jobs available in the city. The list is updated daily and a great compilation of all jobs posted online and on the newspapers.

Another option is just to register to their website and check on the jibs there. Registration is free, and the website provides many useful tools, like uploading your resume that you could automatically attach to any of your job inquiries. Other tools include tips on how to write a resume, career and education planning, various trainings etc.
