I've been there and I was not very impressed. Mine and my husbands food was brought to the table cold. My daughter's chicken flautas were piping hot. I suppose they were cooking those while our food sat and got cold.
The bill was $40 for three of us, a little expensive for just a Thursday night dinner. (We are used to paying $20 up the street for just as good, or better food).

Maybe I should give it another chance. They were only open for about a month when we went, maybe they have worked out the kinks.

I hear the margarita's are VERY good though

Ideally, working on a dude ranch would be good, but lack of experience might make it harder to get that. There's a horse racing facility in NW Bexar County. They might have seasonal jobs. Have you experienced much heat in your life? It is hot a lot down here...outdoor work is pretty hard. I like the town of Medina (Love Creek Orchards and Medina Garden Nursery mainly), but I guess it might not have enough jobs for the people that live there.

If your talking about the ad I posted from the Bandera paper it is the refuge in Pipe Creek. It is a Pipe Creek phone number.

I'm pretty sure the OP is long gone by now

I worked in the Yellowstone back country with the NPS. I had no experience. I got paid hardly anything, but out there you don't need the same things a city person needs. You get everything for free--lodging, horse, God's best scenery and the stars at night to call your own. Other people pay thousands for that. Anyways, I count it as one of the best things, if not the best thing I've done in my life. I met many CEO-turned rangers that left high paying 6 figure jobs just so they can change their lives over for the better. Maybe I'll go back someday, but I know the experiences working there changed my life for the better. You look at things differently. Good luck in your search.
