My wife has a Nissan Altima 1998 her window switch on the driver side was acting up and now her driver side mirror completely broke.

A month ago I went to ... I think is Roosevelt Salvage on 410 & 281 on the South side.
I couldn't find the right (correct) switch for my car, but I found one similar, one from a 2002 Nissan Maxima, they sold it to me for $13.

Today I went to A-1 Imports (410 & I35 on the South side),
I bought the driver side mirror, they asked for $100 and brought it down to $75 when I said that I didn't want it.
I asked for the window switch.... they wanted $75.

I decided to check on the internet, and the $75 mirror that I bought for them, some webpages are selling them for $50-$70.

It's always smart to shop around BEFORE you buy.

I have a beat up HOnda Accord, and One time I went to A1 for a timing belt cover. And first they were ragging on my mechanic (unknowingly He was talking about me) any way long story short he wanted 75 bucks for a two inch piece of plastic. I laughed my Arse out of there. I found it on Ebay for 10bucks.

Ebay, Craiglist, Car Forums, and you could try universal parts, I got a set(0n ebay) of left and right mirrors for my car. They were 15 bucks for the pair add shipping it was around 25 dollars.

just type your car model, and then select the year. Usually you can get parts from older or younger cars but it will still fit your model its depending on your cars generation which judging by your car model the 98 altima, you could fit some parts from a 95-00.

roosevelt is a self service junk
yard, meaning u pull ur own parts at ur own risk! no expert advise or guarantee that u pick the right part. a1imports is a full service yard that takes parts off for u and
that gives you warranty on all parts. we are a local retail store not an online store, we do not compete with ebay or any other establishment on line.

im guessing you work with or at a1-imports?

why would you not compete with other local establishments that WILL pricematch ebay? furthermore, why would you knowingly sell a customer an overpriced part that they could get for a lot cheaper online AND have it shipped to their doorstep?

/i wouldnt call anyone who works at a self or full service junkyard an 'expert' either.
//pick n pull also gives a 90 day warranty for ~5 bucks
///at least thats how much it was on the MAF sensor i replaced a few years ago and still works to this day that only ran me 20$ (was 130$ brand new)..
