I have a HH in SA and absolutely love it, the builder, and the warranty service. HH is second to none.

Although I don't own a DW home, they were my alternative and are also great.

Highland Homes are pricey. Have you looked into Gehan Homes in SA? Gehan Homes in D/FW is not exactly building houses in the good central Dallas areas but in SA, I think Gehan has one of the best communities out there. They are privately owned and is headquartered in Ft. Worth.

For a lower price range, check out TriStone Homes:

Good builder and you get a lot for your money and not have to sacrifice quality and/or service.

Yeah, with that much of a gap between starting the thread and continuing it, construction quality and opinions could well have changed. We bought about a year ago, and the difference was features rather than quality. HH had more expensive "stuff," but I saw no real difference in construction quality.

Default Highland Homes Aliana

Had my home built by Highland for about two months. While they build good homes I have found there customer service on the construction site is extremely horrible. As soon as the house was in the construction phase everything went down hill. There finishing was extremely poor and their response to warrnty request is unbelieveable poor and pathetic.

They have built a reputation in San Antonio as being a high end builder and people tend to think high end means quality...goes to show that the most expensive builder on the block is not always the one with the best construction quality.
