Can someone recommend do it yourself software or a local company to help me with my new logo and business cards? I'm in the design biz and the the plain old Officemax quickie card is not working for my marketing. I don't mind doing it myself....also need brochures etc....but the people I've talked to are out of my budget. I have a small company and am not ready for "branding" etc. Any suggestions?

Vistaprint.com Exremely reasonable, and after your first order you will be offered special deals (up to and including free items, orders, .01 items, etc).

No relation to them but have ordered from them (color business cards and stamps) multiple times and always have been pleased about quality and prices.

First order consider less expensive options of theirs such as matte over gloss, you might soon recieve a special deal on that item in gloss (such as .01 or free, just pay S/H).

They also have free online design software, designs & clipart for use with their products & services.

Thanks Steve....I will check it out. I wish I could do it local....but I'm just flat out tired of hitting a dead end. I suppose I'm being a PIA, but I'm in the design biz so I sort need to reflect some style!

I had mine done at Kwik Kopy on Fredericksburg Rd (there are other offices too), they will do your typesetting for you. Just give them your idea and they'll e-mail you a rough draft and you make corrections. You can pick different types of paper and inks. I like the textured kind with a dark brown ink for mine.

Our first order was our most expensive (by far) which was like $50 for 1000 FULL COLOR-Matte, other orders were far less and they included glossy.

Only thing I know about this, is that recycled business cards suck.
Each one of my business cards is about as thick as a freaking credit card.

I hope at least I'm saving a tree because my ........ is getting killed with those business cards in my wallet.

aw, not fair. my business cards are recycled and they're quite nice, and actually slightly thinner than the regular cardstock (13pt instead of 14pt). the draw back though is that they are actually more expensive than regular weight with glossy uv coating and all that jazz. looks nice though. (from uprinting, fyi)
