Someone's comment on there was "his motto is 'to swerve and protect'"....which if it wasn't so disgusting would actually be funny.

I think he was probably running a DWI-training class for the few SA'ers left that haven't jumped on the "let's get hammered and take to the streets" bandwagon.
SA police officer accused of drunken driving, wrecking police car | WOAI.COM: San Antonio News
FIFTH freaking car accident in a patrol car? I think any other company that has vehicles driven by employees would have fired this fool a long time ago and do you think he maybe might have a drinking problem? the chief sure does look like a fool (yet again) for defending his previous murder.

Who are all these people following me on twitter?!?!? I'm not going anywhere!!! I've tweeted twice in 8 months.

Every time I open my e-mail, I have an e-mail saying I have new followers. They must be the slow swimmers.

Many pre-WWII homes in San Antonio, including bungalows and cottages, were built with fireplaces. The fireplaces, and later gas space heaters, were the predominant means of heating these homes.

Then after WWII, panel heating and central heating systems became de rigueur, only requiring that a thermostat be manipulated for instant heat, insted of going outside to gather or cut wood, and then manually start a fire. Many post-WWII homes in San Antonio would not include a fireplace, and some owners of older homes that had them actually tore them out to gain more wall space, and/or to give their homes a more modern appearance.

Then during the 1970s, I would say, people began to yearn for the ambience created by fireplaces of a bygone era, and many homebuyers began seeking out homes that had fireplaces, or even adding one to their existing homes.

very interesting! it all makes a lot of sense.

I remember one home we lived in overseas where the coal truck would come and dump coal through a shoot into the basement. This house was about 150 years old and had a fireplace in every room that had been closed off. It was so weird to see that. My father had to go down in the basement and stoke the furnace with coal. That was the year I left my "Playdough" on the radiator! Playdough melts btw....and the radiators were not painted blue. I think I blocked out what happened after that.
