Does anyone know any information about Eagle Pass? I got an amazing job opportunity in the medical field and I wanted to know if it would be a nice place to live.

Nice to you may be different from nice to me. Have you ever been there? It's a border town and it's HOT. There is lots of growth there right now.

It's not somewhere I would EVER choose to live, but it may trip your trigger.

What kind of lifestyle are you looking to live?

Eagle Pass is pretty far away from any large city.. it takes about 2 hours to get to SA from there. If you like small towns, then I suppose it isn't too bad.

Hehe..you're about the 12th person that said they've got "an amazing job opportunity in Eagle Pass"....guess the other 11 turned it down after they researched living there.

We had a friend who had a job working for the railroad out there. They lived on what used to be a military base. Now it was a living community and it was awesome. Yes it was out away from town but it was gorgeous. They had a terrific house, golf course, and it was beautiful. They had their own school. If you like living out in the middle of no where in that sort of environment then it would be great.

well my job opportunity is to work at the local hospital. The sign on bonus is $20,000. They are also going to pay me $4,500 to move there. I understand that its hot and boring, that doesnt bother me. I don't care about that stuff. I was just wondering if its tolerable.

No. Why do you think that they need to offer sign on bonus' etc..? Because they have to.

Again "tolerable" to you is not necessarily "tolerable" to someone else. I would not take 24,500 to move there. I am pretty sure I wouldn't take double that, either.

Sounds like you are fine with hot and boring, so what, to you, would make a place intolerable?

It's a border town, very hot, not much to do, and pretty well isolated--SA is not that far, but it's not a pleasant drive, IMO. I'm not a big fan of that part of TX, but again, you may find it tolerable.

Good luck deciding!
