I just noticed in my email that they are also giving the "father's" a $25 gift certificate in addition to the $29.95 Father's day special. We love Flemmings. It's such a lovely dinning room...mood lighting, great professional servers that are very knowledgeable.....not to mention NICE! That's a special that's hard to pass up.

The only problem with going to an expensive steak place is that it really isn't that good for a REALLY picky, almost 4 year old child. So it has to be really little-kid friendly too.

I totally agree. I definitely would not recommend Flemming's for people with small children. The OP mentioned the possibility of a microbrewery, which I assumed meant he may not have small children. Where did the almost 4 year old small child come from?

Just remembered Kirby's has 50% off bottles of wine on Sunday, for those wino-fathers like me!

Yes, I know OP very well and his (our) child is the almost 4 year old in question. Teehee... If the microbrew place was little kid friendly, that would be cool. Kirby's, Ruth's Chris, Flemming's, all of those are great for date nights and we'll be hitting those up in about a month or so.

Thank you everyone and sorry, babe, I kind of hijacked your thread!

If you want a microbrewery, I'd definitely suggest Freetail. BJ's has some good food and beer - but they actually don't make their own beer onsite. It is contracted out to St. Arnold's from Houston. Freetail makes all theirs right there. And I read in the current they are the top rated Brewpub in Texas from a major beer rating site. I've been - and I concur! I'm from San Diego, which is pretty much Beer Mecca USA, and Freetail is LEGIT.

Only drawback is if you are looking for something beyond pizza, because that is their menu.

Fathers day for us will be sleeping in (oh, say 5am...) and putting the pork butt on at about 9pm this evening....for the best darn pulled pork BBQ you have ever put in your mouth. Give my baby the chance to BBQ, a few cold brews and enjoy a slow paced Sunday on the back patio and life is gooooooooddddddd.

Happy Fathers Day to all of you!!!

You have got to go to Texas de Brazil! I'll be taking my husband there because its his favorite restaraunt. They have a lavish salad bar and all you can eat brazillian meats. The waiters will come by your table with skewers of all differant meats to choose from. I'll have to say I have never in my life tasted meat so tender and flavorful! The cool thing is if you sign up on there email list they will send you a coupon for a free fathers day meal. They also do it for your birthday and anniversary! Trust me, you will be blown away!!
