Howdy all, Looking for an idea (my wife is treating me) for a father days meal. I would like ideas like a good microbrewery or sports/finger-food type places. It doesn't have to be a steak-type place, but since we are starting a healthier lifestyle on the following day, I would like great tasting food, regardless of the price. thanks for any offerings. Richard 1604 Westside

Heck, it's Father's Day, and I assume you have kids. So, don't take them out for finger foods...go to one of the many steak restaurants like Outback, Saltgrass, Texas Land & Cattle, or Ruth's Chris.

If money's not an issue, splurge for Kirby's IMHO.

And being Father's Day, I'll do more than assume you have kids. Isn't that the definition of a father?

LOL! great point SSTH!

I'd like to add Flemmings to the list. They are having a wonderful Father's Day special. That's where I'd pick if it were left up to me....which it's not.

btw - this is what we got in our email. They are open for Lunch.....reservations recommended.

There is a place that is a microbrewery up off of 281 past 1604...I think it is BJ's....the food was good. Since you specifically asked for a brew place, you might consider that one.

Happy Fathers Day!

Second the recommendation. BJ's is very good. It's very busy on weekends.

There's also the Freetail Brewing Co. on 1604 at NW Military. I haven't tried it yet, but there are some discussions about it here if you search this forum.
