Hello all ! I am moving back to my home in Helotes this summer and bringing back with me 2 horses, (other 2 are leased until end of show year) I am interested in finding boarding near Helotes ( or north side) that won't totally kill my piggy bank. Any suggestions? contact info ?

I believe on Leslie RD in Helotes, there's a stable there. There used to be a sign there.

However, on OLD CAMP BULLIS Rd (where Lowes is in the RIM), there's a really nice and big stable with horses. I've been there and can get you the info if you want.

I sent you a PM. Also TexasNick is referring to Marcos Stables; I used to board there. I loved it. It's probably a little different now that it's in the middle of sprawl and not on the fringes like it was when I was in high school, but it was a great place.

ETA: I forgot to put it in the PM, but there is also Liberty Hill Farm south of Boerne. They do a series of dressage schooling shows and we used to show there all the time; they have a very nice boarding program.

No, it's a training and boarding facility exclusively. I know of several place that have lesson programs - Liberty Hill, Russell, someone at Retama - but these would all be English. Diamond C on Toutant Beauregard had a Western program with schooling horses, last time I checked.

Yea I'm looking for a Western program as it would be mainly trail riding and the like. When I was driving to Boerne Stage airport (near Boerne), there was a big stable and they had a sign that advertised lessons. I may check it out...I forgot the name...but it was "victory" something. Victory farms? I don't remember the name exactly.

Victory Lane - they are a Saddleseat trainer, which is even farther from what you'd want than some of the other places I listed. Your best bet would be to call Diamond C since you live in the area. They have a nice facility, and they have two instructors who exclusively teach Western and trail. It's up past the Rose Palace about eight minutes. Plus you could always take a quick drive to Barkley's and look at their bulletin board or ask them if they know of anyone else who teaches western pleasure and has school horses.

Rockin' AC Stables is where my horses are. lots of space, lots of features. It's not fancy but it's definitely a good place. It has a track, two arenas, stalls, lighted round pen etc. www.rockinacstables.com
