Exactly! I always laugh when I pass one of those Don't Mess With Texas signs.. and how could anyone think it's ok to leave a dirty diaper in the parking lot?
BTW, drive down 90 from Lackland to 1604 and there's very little grass left on the sides of the highway. It's almost all burn patches and I would be willing to bet not a one of them came from a catalytic converter.

That is the area where I started to notice all the burn marks.

And by the way, a catalytic converter may get hot but it needs to stand on dry grass for a lot longer than simply driving over it to catch the grass on fire. It happens, but usually from vehicles that are parked for a bit. I've seen pics of a few Jeeps the burned that way, it is a shame and could have been easily avoided.

I carry several fires extinguishers in my Jeep, maybe when I am feeling rich and having a bit of moxie-ish I will grab one when I see someone toss out a lit cigarette and put it out in a rather over-the-top manner! Maybe that would demonstrate the seriousness of it all!

Maybe that would be a good state slogan--"Keep Your Butts In The Car!--kinda like one of my old favorites--"Hug Your Kids at Home, and Belt Them in the Car!" I love the double meaning, is was a very catching campaign slogan, much like "Don't Mess With Texas!"
