Afternoon all,

My wife asked me a question that I had no answer to and was hoping I could reach out to the community to see if they have any ideas.

We've been in our house now for about two and half years (newly built), and over the past few months we've been noticing that when we clean, we are picking up an inordinately high amount of dust that is pink or red. We both have no idea where this is coming from...carpets are brown, insulation is yellow, we have tile floors downstairs...so it's become a big mystery as to what it actually is. The only thing that we have that is that same red color is some house blankets, but I would have a hard time believing those blankets could coat the entire two story house.

Any ideas? I'm wondering if this could also be causing some of our allergies / sicknesses...

It's dust from Africa. Every year the winds blow the dust across the Atlantic and into the southern US. Texas is a recipient of the dust. It's very fine and gets everywhere. Look at the car and you'll see it there too. It even gets into the house. It'll stop soon.

That and no rain...you would be amazed how the rain "cleans" the air...and we have not had any of that in a LOOOOONNNNGGGGG time.

Hey, when are those stupid "all over the grill and windshield of all our cars" butterflies due...soon, right???

Don't forget the smoke from southern Mexico when they burn their crops/forest.
