Because they were on TV? Seriously, that's about the only reason I can come up with.........same with Chunky's Burgers. Admittedly, I haven't been there myself, but not one person I know who has eaten there has had much good to say about their burgers. And it's appropriately named, as people blow chunks there nightly after trying that Four Horsemen burger they serve.

Tip Top's food isn't bad, it's just not so mind-blowingly good that I'd rush right back. Unless I was feelin' froggy and wanted to wrestle with the biker dude.

I like TIP TOP and try to stop when I am in the area at lunchtime. Thier burgers are no big deal, most people go for the chicken fried steak, onion rings or daily specials.

The problem I often have at country diners, like TT, EARL ABELS, PIG STAND or BUD JONES, is there are many ways (all acceptable) to prepare foods like CFS, cream gravy, onion rings, pies or sides, you will either like the way they do it or not, kind of like eating at someone else's house.

For instance, I like onion rings cut large, with breading or a thick batter. If a place cuts them thin, with a flaky batter, I will not like them.

I can assure you that people don't stand in line to be seated at Tip Top because the food is mediocre.

Great onion rings, CFS and broiled fish.
