Hello, I will be relocating from Washington DC to San Antonio at the end of March. I need to find a nice, safe and clean 3bdrm/2bath apartment close to Fort Sam Houston. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here you go LaShurn...take a look through the relocation sticky. Lots of good recommendations and info on the city inside. Good luck!

Do you speak Spanish? No, it's not necessary.

FCF: Why not just add 'Do You Speak Spanish?' to your tag line, as you ask everyone who moving into the city without fail.

Is it an issue? Are you surveying for Government purposes? What it comes across as is mildly prejudicial... Especially for someone who's made it perfectly clear that they can't get away from San Antonio fast enough for Southern California.

Interesting name. I thought someone with that name had just found a place. Interesting coincidence. Good luck in SA. I'm sure you'll love it no matter where you live

Check out home rentals in Wilshire Terrace. I found a 3 bedroom 1 bath for $750 a month which is probably cheaper than any apartment you will find. They are older homes so the quality can be hit or miss but a lot of them have been renovated and are very nice and clean inside. The area is great and it seems pretty safe. Lots of kids and people walking/running/biking up and down the streets all day.

A 3 bedroom apartment is a bit hard to find, so the suggestion of looking into single family homes is a good one. However, finding a house is hit-or-miss. Some are in good condition and others are not. I used to live in the Ft. Sam area (and eventually bought a house there). The closest zipcodes are 78209 and 78218.

Legacy Heights is on Austin Highway. It was built in 2008 and is fairly new. Anything else on Austin Highway is a bit of a gamble. There is also Lakeside Villas, Cenzio and the Villas as Oakwell Farms, but they do not have 3 bedrooms. In 78209, there is Sunset Ridge. But I doubt they have 3 bedrooms, either.

You're smart to want to live close to the post. There are definitely some traffic hotspots in that area. Good luck on the move!

You also might try some of the 2-4 unit properties in the Terrell Hill and Monte Vista area. I think there are a few that have 3 bedrooms. There are also the areas of Mahncke Park, Govt Hill, Tobin Hill, but as said before, there is quite a mixture of housing.
