I figured the cops could've done more by... oh, idunno... solving crimes committed against people. Maybe thefts, burglaries, hit and runs... pretty much anything but writing tickets anyway? Whatever I guess.

No, those more well-off areas are not inhabited by saints but they always seem to make the most noise. I remember a number of years ago when they wanted to put some type of transitional housing for the homeless in the Castle Hills area and it was all over the news and there were so many letter to editor letters in the Express News and overwhelmingly the residents didn't want that type of place in their community.

This was a transitional housing place to HELP people and look at the outrage that they felt! So I can imagine putting a place like this which has NO community value and instead allow sex in hidden public (in the vicinity of families, a community, and schools which pay more taxes and expect a better quality neighborhood) would definitely rile up those Castle Hills folks MUCH more than it did with that transitional housing proposal.


Over where I live, there's a 24-hour “bath house” a few minutes drive from me and no more than a minute from KSAT 12 NEWS and Central Catholic High School. It's called "ACI" and it's on the corner of Elmira and St Mary's (IH 35). It's been there for years and no one just seems to care but I do. You may not care that grandpa and his friends are doing illicit things like that. But that's how you feel and not every one else feels that way.


I'm fairly certain that if one of these places propped up (like I mentioned) in a wealthier suburb it wouldn't even have chance of continuing; If a "business owner" wanted to put this kind of place right in the area where some privileged suburbanites reside such as Tanji Patton, or former mayors Henry Cisneros or Howard Peak (who all live in Alamo Heights) we would see unspeakable community disgust and news coverage for days with the majority in that neighborhood "against" it rather than for it.


So, I personally do have a problem with these kinds of places. In my opinion, they invite the wrong kind of people into a neighborhood. That's how I feel and while that ACI place isn't across the street from me...it's still in the area and I don't like it nor do I want it anywhere quite frankly. I will stand by what I believe in that they put that place where those men were caught and even the ACI place in poorer neighborhoods because they knew they could get away with it in those areas and that's what's plain sad.
