Now, if I happen to have 800-900 lbs of dope in my house, how difficult would it be for me to come up with, oh lets say, $20K in bail money????

This wins the Darwin Award for the day...no wonder drugs are such an issue....

Pot bust yields more than 800 pounds

DUMB, DUMB, DUMB! His bail should be somewhere in the neighborhood of $2 million.

Why do you think they call it "dope"?

Legalize it, tax it and lower our taxes.

Legalize = Take the money away from the drug dealers and give it to the tax payers
plus, we would stop paying for millions of people to live in a motel (jail) because they had a joint.

The potheads' answer to all of the country's problems = legalizing pot. Brilliant.

Default Ain't neccessarily so,

Many, many have been quoted, even the chief of police for San Francisco
says so, legalize it. He has stated publicly that efforts to eradicate marijuana fields are useless. For all their efforts at finding hidden fields of the stuff in Ca. (helicopters etc.)they recover only 5% of annual production.
Resources that could have been used toward more serious offenses is going
wasted to combat usage of a substance that is so widely used that it has become commonplace. Profits from the stuff go to the Mex. cartels.
In fact the cartels are responsible for growing and harvesting it eliminates
the dangers of importation for them.
Don't get me wrong I don't use and I am not for using the stuff, it makes
people befuddled, confused and intoxicated. I am just not sure that law enforcement efforts are getting any return for all the funds that are being invested in that direction, to slow or stop usage. Usage is wrong and it is another form of moral decay, I know. I managed to keep my kids off the stuff but it is too easy for kids to get, right now.
Perhaps it has become an issue like the old alchohol prohibition laws. These laws put big money into the hands of the underworld just as big money is now going to the Mexican cartels from marijuana.

Legalize it or not is not the issue...I really don't care one way or the other...I just don't understand how someone with a couple of joints on them can get arrested and get the same bail amt as someone with 800-900 lbs of the stuff. Like this was all for HIS private use???

A decent used car cost more than $20K for Gods sake!!!! Like someone dealing with THAT amt of drugs doesn't have that laying around in chump change....
