Did I live there, no. I've spent a lot of days there starting in 1997 until current.
I was doing about 60 days per year for the first 10 years...now down to about 5 days per quarter.
I'm slowly transitioning my clients and will not travel for business (or try not to) anymore starting in August.Retiring.
Although I've not lived there, I've spent an awful lot of time over a long period of time, in/around Memphis.

Somehow I don't think it's much different that what I've experienced over the last 13 years. Have many friends that do live there as well. I have several trips scheduled before the end of this summer (well August anyway).

Been there through Hurricane Elvis, floods of a few months ago, Memphis in mud (several times), many, many COGIC invasions etc. Hidden many times due to tornado sirens too!

living there .....living anywhere 365 days a year, having a child in the school system....and so forth is far different than visiting for work or even pleasure.

But we will agree to disagree on that point.

I disagree (many folks don't/never did have children in the school system, are not involved in the politics etc.. but still manage to "live" there.) ..but we won't get anywhere with this...so I'll agree to disagree as well.

There's simply NO way to judge a community based on visits, period.

I am not referring to those who live there w/o kids. I am referring to myself as an individual who did live there, had a child in school, worked/lived/shopped etc there. It is different than someone who just visits there be it work or pleasure.

Having kids in a community is completely different than not, I agree! That's why I try to avoid making recommendations of school districts too much - all ours are up and gone (thankfully - that's why I can afford "toys" now!<G>), so anything I might say is going to have that caveat.....
