For those of you that live in the desert (La Quinta,Palm Desert, etc.), I'm wondering how often you actually go to San Diego, L.A., Disneyland, the beach, etc. to get out of town?

During the school year, not much unless one of the kids had a sports event out of town. During the summer, at least one weekend a month. We would get a family annual pass for Sea World and take several trips to SD during the summer. It's mostly to get out of the heat. SD and OC are fairly easy to get to. We don't go into LA unless we have to.

I don't live in Palm Springs, but about 45 min from it, but I go to all the places you listed occasionally for a fun day trip. I go about every several months or once a year.

LA and OC on a daily basis. SD, maybe once a month.

You go there for work? Wow, I work with a lady who drives from Victorville to the LA Harbor area, where I live, EVERY day for work. She's never late and rarely sick. To me that's crazy!

When I worked in the Brentwood/Santa Monica area, there was a lady who worked there from Apple Valley near Victorville. The only time she missed work was when there was snow in the Cajon Pass by where she lives.

I was definitely impressed!

Crazy. That's at least 100 miles one way. No salary would be worth it.

Definitely a helicopter commute.

I'm cheating but, im in Beaumont and I typically drive to LA once a week sometimes more - Although I stay on the outskirts of LA; Montebello, East LA, West Covina, Pasadena, etc, and only travel further west for Dodger games We have annual passes to Disneyland and try to go at least once a month.

But not everyone gets to be a Ballroom Diva.

I'd look funny in spandex and point toes I'm afraid.
