My favorite 3 are:
1) La Quinta
2) Indian Wells
3) Palm Desert

I spent 2 summers (yes summers) living in the IWCC at a friend's place and wouldn't mind trying to buy in IW soon. What I liked about it most was that it was a similar 'feel' to the city I grew up in outside of Seattle.

Although La Quinta is my favorite city in the CV with the old town park and shops/restaurants. I spent 5 months living in LQ a few years ago.
