I live in LA and I own two houses in highland park. I want to sell and move outside of Los Angeles. I want to move outside the city, any city. I am 63 yrs old, alone except for dogs, and I do not know how to do this. How do I sell my two run down houses here in LA and move somewhere else. I don't know how or where to start. I have problems with these two houses, they are in need of repair, they are run down, and I have have a daughter in one house who will not move, these houses have not been taken care of for years, they have many problems. I can't afford to fix up for sale, I just want out! I want to buy a home for myself outside the city, I have barely no income, but I have these houses. Where do I start and what should I do first? I figure I have about 10-15 years more to live and I do not want to live here! These two houses are back to back, meaning they both face separate streets and share a back yard. One is about 450 Sq ft, one bedroom, the other is two bedroom about 980 sq ft. Spanish style stucco built in 1928-29. Nice properties but in need of repair. About 6 miles from downtown LA. It is a rent controlled area but the daughter never paid any rent. I will have to help her get on her own two feet. Somehow. She has a ten year old daughter. Any one have any advice? Or suggestions?

Hi Delores...I've been watching your post for the past two days, and no one seems to want to touch it...I really don't know what to tell you either...I'm no expert, but I can see you are between a rock and a hard place! First of all, I'd pray for guidance. My next step would be to maybe contact a reliable realtor. Maybe you can sell your properties as is...take the money and move out of LA. My next question is about your daughter...why hasn't she paid her mom any rent? Is she disabled and unable to work? I know you have concerns about your granddaughter, and that's understandable. But her mom should be taking more responsibility...you cannot, at 63 be expected to help your daughter get on her feet...she obviously relys on you too much already...to be honest, she should be helping you!! I pray that this all works out for you...you sound like a kind person and I wish you the best of luck!
