Hi,

I can't help with the rent question nor the schools, but pollution is not a big issue in Temecula. The mountains, depending on which ones you want to visit, are about 1 to 2 hours away. The beach is 45 minutes to 1 hour for the closest beaches.

$2000 to $2200 for rent will get you A LOT of house. To my knowledge, all middle schools in Temecula offer a GATE program. The main draw of this area is it being family oriented and offering good schools, so you don't have to be too picky when looking at school zones. There's no "inner city". This is definitely suburban living!

What do you mean by boring? Culturally, nightlife-wise, etc. I would say yes. For me those things are not there. But for kids and families, there is always tons of stuff to do, so it depends what your priorities are right now. For me this will do. Hopefully someday we can move closer to "the action"

you answered my question before i asked you: very clever. i'll be in touch. the schools are indeed good. what grade is your child in?

temecula is a little boring but it's within reach of hundreds of interesting options - despair not!

the sunshine is wonderful & you're living in a valley so the skies are very pretty: skyview changes constantly: beautiful sunsets. the santa rosa plateau is a well-kept secret for a scenic nature adventure.

You can rent a house between $1500-$2000 easy.
The beach in Oceanside is 30 minute drive, nice drive - Highway 15 to Highway 76 through Fallbrook.
Air pollution is here but not like Los Angeles..it just drifts down here. People who say there is NO pollution usually have lived in Orange County/or Los Angeles and this is HEAVEN for them. I lived in other areas with NO air pollution and know what a BLUE SKY is.
There are PLENTY of activities for children in this area, public pool, after school and summer programs and a BEAUTIFUL new library. Lots of restaurants and wineries for the adults.
