We will be leaving an excellent school district (all schools rated 10's by greatschools.net) and moving to Redlands. We aren't sure which area would be the best for family/schools; there seems to be quite a variety of schools, and only Mariposa has a 10.
What are your thoughts? Are the newer schools/areas becoming better?
Is it worth the extra $$ to live in Mariposa school district? What about the middle and high schools? We are confused!
Thanks for your input!

Redlands schools are strong. I would choose Mariposa Elementary and then Cope Middle School. I know less about the high schools.

From what I understand (limited), REV (Redlands East Valley) is the better of the 2 Redlands high schools.

Thanks! That confirms what I can tell from the internet. I just can't tell what direction the new schools (Citrus High & Bennet Middle) will be headed. I didn't know if those of you that live there have any inside scoop.
Thanks again!

I believe Citrus and Beattie Middle will pull mostly East Highland Ranch it is situated in that part of town. I cld be wrong. Neighbor child lives in East Highland Ranch with her mom, dad lives here in Yucaipa, and she attends Beattie it is suppose to be good- it is the highest rates by API score if you put stock in that at 815.

REV is the premier High School from my understanding. Redlands High is a lot more quirky and in down town Redlands.

Mariposa is the premier Elementary API well into the 900s but I have heard very good things about Kimberly as well and I really like the neighborhood that attends Kimberly. I have at times heard the comments made such as" You know Mariposa parents!" I am not sure it is implying something wonderful as it seems very sarcastic when people mention it. However, every school has their little issues, am not implying the education is not A+.

You can use this site to check API and also demographics parent education level etc. 2009 Growth API LEA List of Schools Report (CA Department of Education)
