Every night around 9:30 there is a helicopter that flies around our general area. Sorta by Ontario Mills. Are they looking for something in particular or just doing surveillance?

Thanks!

It's too bad but Ontario Mills used to be such a nice mall when it first opened. The last time I visited it , I felt very uncomfortable to say the least. It has become the present day version of the Indian Hill Mall (Pomona) , if anyone remembers what that was like.

That's not too far from Ontario Airport if I recall, and there are illegal streetraces in the vicinity of the airport all the time around that time.

Could be the time for a shift change for the local police helicopters and maybe the approach to the airport at that time goes over your house. Otherwise the police helicopters fly a pretty random pattern while responding to calls.

Thanks for all the responses. Lol @ ghetto bird. That's what hubby calls it. I'm surprised you weren't comfortable at Ontario Mills. I don't think the area around it is "shady" at all. So the consensus is basically that its just random flying. That's great for taxpayers.

bhcompy...yes it is by the airport...maybe it is due to some streetracing. I wasn't aware of any of that taking place.

That is and/or was a big problem in the industrial areas of Ontario. The wide, straight streets with relatively light traffic were 'perfect' for street racing. The police would show up and find hundreds of spectators and a similar number of cars lined up for racing. To stop it the police started to seize cars and crush them. They also added speed bumps. It was in the newspapers for a while.

They're a daily (and nightly) presence here in South Fontana as well. About 20% of the time the night eye is lit up.
