Here's a few of mine, any thoughts on others?

Where do you like to take day trips outside of San Diego? Leave early in morning, come home at night OK.

1. Joshua Tree (better to camp over night)
2. Palm Springs
3. Julian
4. Catalina island
5. Anza Borrego Desert (when wild flowers are blooming)
6. Disneyland (kids favorite, overnight better)
7. San Juan Capistrano Mission
8. Balboa Island - Newport beach

Not including the standards in local SD....eg. legoland, Zoo wild animal park, Sea world, beaches, etc.

My husband and I go to LA about once a month as a day-trip. We take PCH from Dana Point to Newport Beach, do some spotting at LAX, drive through Santa Monica/Beverly Hills/Hollywood, stop and get dinner somewhere, and go back. Takes 6-8 hours usually. It's quite fun.

Sounds like a very good itenerary ... can you please clarify what PCH is? Is that a boat you can take?

Laguna Beach is kind of fun. Lots of cool art galleries, restaurants. Parking can be a bear, so be prepared to circle. Think La Jolla and Del Mar, combined.
