It takes 30 minutes to get to my haircutter in Hillcrest from downtown due to the 6th ave/university/163 backup!

Take the trolley, man. Even if your work isn't right by the trolley stop the bus service downtown is great and some parts of downtown have just a $0.25 bus faire. Unlike the rest of the city where bus service is spotty at best in the downtown area service is very fast and frequent. I guess the politicians and bureaucrats sometimes use the bus service downtown because it seems to be the only part of town with decent service.

Pray the 52 to the 67 takes some of the pressure off but even then in a few years we will be right back at it LA style. Wait until those new communities get built off the 15 and 67. There will be a log jam even on the weekends.

If I take the trolley I am commuting 2+ hours a day even if there is no traffic. I'd rather work an extra 2 hours a day than sit on that thing.

Just take First Ave all the way through Bankers Hill. It will put you on the western side if Hillcrest/Mission Hills. I use this way all the time to get to the Whole Foods up there.
