I bet if you wore a pirate costume and hung around the ship, the parrots would find you. They're flying around lost looking for their pirates; all they need is a substitute pirate.

I love them too! They don't fly by every morning, but they do ensure they come by when I can sleep in. I think it's funny seeing when fly around at sunset I was talking with a friend yesterday about it, and he said they hang out in rowdy mismatched (different kinds) flocks in Hillcrest too. He said it's sort of like the local human population there -uncaged and free from the past, Colorful, fun and loud! I love that they seem to have very good taste in neighborhoods. At least as far as I am concerned.

This post made my day! Haha, thanks!

Yeah I think I'm starting to get used to them, maybe even like having this "natural" alarm clock! LOL.

We have wild parrots where we live near Pasadena. Having had a parrot as a pet for 27 years we loved the wild ones squacking overhead. When we bought a condo in the area just East of OB, and heard the parrots go over, we were really glad! We'd have missed those crazy noisy birds.

I miss the parrots! I live in MIssion Valley now. They fly at like 6am in the spring & fall...you don't get them too much in the winter. Not to worry though, you should get used to them rather quickly...kinda like the planes that fly over.

Thanks, I needed a good laugh today! When I lived in Santa Rosa (NorCal), we had a parrot colony that hung out at the Flamingo Hotel. I was really shocked the first time I saw them. I guess birds of a feather DO flock together!
