Plan on moving to SD in next 2 months. Have 2 children 10 & 6 + dog. We can afford approx. $2000-2200 for rent. Wife's commute will be to the Linda Vista area. Looking for a house , near other children and good school systems. Any suggestions

How big is the dog? That will play a factor in finding housing.

I second this. Convenient to Linda Vista, family-friendly, and it sounds like schools are pretty good there. San Diego USD schools are quite hit-or-miss, and some of them frankly are not very good. Tierrasanta's seem to be OK.
