Hi,
I'm looking for a daycare for a 8 month old in Vista,SanMarcos,Carlsbad and Oceanside area. Could anyone point better places in these cities? Do you expect I have to be on the wait list before getting any. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
A

You don't say if you're already living in the area. If you are living in the area, that may make things easier.

In many ways, this is such an individual thing. If you visit a place, you can get a much better idea of how it is. Are there a lot of children? Good. Too many children? Bad? How do the faces of the children look -- that will tell you a lot. You might also ask for references and talk to some of the parents who have their children in that particular day care center.

I would look at churches that have day care. (I don't know if any in those areas do have day care -- but some must.)

Here's a link to a place that's been around a long time and it's also a 'big business', which has it's pros and cons. However, the big business has been in business since 1979, which I would think is a good sign.

Default Carlsbad Preschools

There are good preschools in Carlsbad:

Also there's a new preschool coming up that looks good. Goddard is pretty big on east coast and midwest.

Good luck!
