Hope to drive from San Diego to Venice Beach but I'm not good with heights and big drop-offs on roads. Is this a pretty calm drive for someone like me or does it get precarious?

Thank you for your input!

The drive is pretty much flat.

Not "Florida flat" but pretty much manageable.

You will have more issues with the traffic than with the topography.

yeah - what Harrier said on the topography. There are a few rolling hills, mostly down through very scenic lagoons - but they have very gentle grades.

the things you see in movies and car commercials - thats further north than venice beach

but - have you driven in socal traffic before? it can be intense - as in bumper-to-bumper-at-80mph intense. i would factor in lots of time - both for traffic and rest stops if its new to you

Yes, used to social traffic, but not going 80 mph! How do you go 80 with bumper to bumper? Yikes! LOL!
I'm a bit familiar with LA but nothing south of Venice Beach. Thanks for the input!!

Ha!

Some of the car commercials are filmed in the hills near where Harrier lives.

The roads are east of Venice Beach but are quite "twisty and turny" and ideal for highlighting the capability of a particular vehicle.
