Any help would be nice!

Murphy Canyon definitely. I grew up there when it was Navy. When the Marines moved in, they remodeled every single duplex. Don't get put off by "duplex". They are actually very nice homes (singly and two-story) with a garage and backyard. Very close to schools. Miller Elem. is actually in Phase 1, Farb (MS) is right across Santo Rd. and Serra High is right across Tierrasanta Blvd. The whole area is very nice, safe and close to everything (centrally located). If you're going to be stationed at Miramar, Murphy Canyon would be the best choice.
